How Do I Place An Order With Bell Graphics?

Looking to bring your artwork to life in print?

Bell Graphics is the professional printer you’ve been searching for. With 18 years in the business, we pride ourselves on excellence and will be only too happy to discuss your printing needs.

But how do you place an order with us, and what do you need to do to ensure your vision takes shape as you’d hoped?

Luckily, you’re in the right place to find out. This guide tells you everything you need to know about placing an order with Bell Graphics and how to achieve the print you need.

Step 1: Choose Your Product And Options

The first step of the ordering process is a bit of research on your part. Take a leisurely browse of our website to view our wide range of print products… What is it you’re looking for? From business cards and brochures to labels and banners, we’ve got it all.

Quantity Matters

How many printed products do you need? If you’re unsure, request quotes for different quantities, and we’ll be happy to help you compare options to meet your budget and usage requirements.

Paper Selection

Flimsy business cards simply don’t send the right message, do they?

The type of paper you choose can have a massive impact on your end product. Bell Graphics stocks a huge variety of different weights and stocks and can offer friendly advice to make sure you end up with a top-quality print.

Not sure what paper you should be ordering? Check out this blog.

Customisation

Bell Graphics know that some projects require something a bit more specialist. From custom shapes to foiling and spot UV treatment, we can create a unique, premium aesthetic that will get people talking. Use our online form, or contact us directly by phone or email for a personalised quote.

Request A Quote

With quantity, paper selection and customisation sorted, you’re ready to submit your quote request to us. Scroll down on our website homepage to find the request button, or give us a call, and we’ll get your quote to you within 4-6 hours (during office opening times).

Step 2: Confirm Your Order

Once you know what you want, it’s time to confirm your print order based on your quote.

How Do I Place My Order?

Confirming your order is simple with Bell Graphics. You can give us a call or reply to your quote email.

Step 3: Provide Your Artwork

Once you’ve chosen your product and received your quote, your next job is to submit your artwork. Here’s how to prepare and send your files so that they’re ready for us to use.

File Preparation

Before sending your artwork, make sure it’s print-ready. There are several factors to consider, including embedding text and adding a bleed, that will ensure we can get straight to work with your order - without delay.

Sending Large Files

Some artwork files are huge, making them impossible to send via email. But don’t panic. Use trusted file-sharing services like Dropbox, WeTransfer or Google Drive to upload and share your files. All you need to do is upload your artwork and send us the link to access them - we’ll do the rest!

To Proof Or Not To Proof

You might be wondering if it’s possible to have a proof before printing your entire order…

Our answer? Yes, absolutely! We provide PDF proofs for every project and if you want to see it (and feel it!) in the flesh, then you can opt for a digitally printed, press or injet proof for a small additional fee. Bear in mind that we can’t proceed with your print job until you sign off your proof so delays can affect the turnaround time of your order.

Step 4: Review And Approve Your Proof

Once our pre-press team has received your artwork, they perform thorough checks - known as pre-flight checks - to ensure the files meet our printing standards. The pre-flight check pays attention to:

  • Colour mode. We check that your files are in the CMYK colour mode - and if they are not, we convert them for you. Differences in colour mode can cause discrepancies in printed colours.
  • Image resolution. We confirm that the images are high-quality. For a quality print, we strongly recommend images of at least 300 dpi.
  • Bleed. We make sure that your file includes a bleed area. This is crucial in avoiding unwanted white edges.
  • Font embedding. Our pre-press team ensure all fonts are embedded or outlined in your file to prevent fonts from being substituted or distorted.
  • File format. Artwork files need to be in PDF format.
  • Page sizes and dimensions. Your artwork must match the specified page size and dimensions for your chosen product.
  • Margins and safe zones. By checking that important elements like imagery, logos and text are placed within safe zones - which are usually at least 5mm from the edge - we make sure they don’t get trimmed during the cutting process.

Your Digital Proof

After our pre-press team has checked your file and worked through any issues with you, that’s when you’ll be emailed your digital proof. We recommend printing it out so that you can see how it looks.

All OK?

If everything’s as it should be, let us know via email.

Need Changes?

Spotted something that needs changing? Don’t panic. You can either resubmit your artwork having made the necessary changes or request assistance from our design team.

Can I Cancel My Order?

Pre-approval, yes. But once you've approved the proof, your order moves into production. At this stage, cancellations are no longer possible.

Step 5: Production and Delivery

On receipt of your order, our skilled production team will expertly handle your print project - and get it to you on time - with a focus on high-quality results. We also perform quality checks the whole way through, ensuring your products feature vibrant colours and sharp details and exceed your expectations.

Delivery

Bell Graphics offer free delivery on orders over £150. If you’d prefer to collect your order from us, we can arrange a convenient time.

When Will The Products Be Delivered?

Delivery times vary depending on the product and the specifications of your order. Larger jobs in huge quantities will take longer, for example.

Here’s an overview of common products and their print times from proof approval.

  • 3-4 working days: Flyers, leaflets, posters, sheet labels and business cards.
  • 5-7 working days: Booklets and brochures.
  • 7-10 working days. NCR notepads and purchase order pads.

Payment is due before your project commences. You’ll be sent a detailed invoice, with clear payment instructions. Once you’ve made the payment, the team will get to work…

How Do I Pay?

We aim to make payment hassle-free. Your invoice may include a Stripe payment link for card processing or you can make payment via BACs to the bank details provided.

Frequent customers may also benefit from a 30-day account, subject to approval by Bell Graphics. This option simplifies repeat orders, enabling you to pay for multiple orders in one go at the end of the month.
